DALLASTOWN- Margaret R. Kohler, 85, of York Township, died Thursday, October 22, 2009 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Howard E. Kohler. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, October 26, 2009 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. Her pastor, The Reverend Cathy H. Sherry will be officiating the service. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. Mrs. Kohler was born in Hellam on March 18, 1924, a daughter of the late William H. and Mamie (Young) Rittenhouse. Earlier she was active in the Republican Party, which led her to her position as Windsor Township Tax Collector for 15 years. Mrs. Kohler was a member of Mt. Zion U.C.C. in York. She and her husband were founding members of the York Motorcycle Club. Mrs. Kohler leaves three daughters, Pauline H. Snyder of Red Lion, Linda L. Donecker of York, and Nancy A. Burrs of Dallastown; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; 6 great, great grandchildren; a brother Walter Rittenhouse of York; two sisters, Romaine Ness of Dallastown and Charlotte Yohe of Red Lion. A son, Morris Kohler; a daughter Doris Kohler; five brothers, Sylvester, Morris, George, Melvin, and Harold; and three sisters, Virginia Dietz, Mary Rittenhouse, and Pauline Rittenhouse preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to White Rose Hospice, 1412 Sixth Ave., York, PA 17403.
