Margaret R. Stambaugh

YORK- Margaret R. Stambaugh, 98, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services North in York. She was the wife of the late Raymond M. Stambaugh to whom she was married for 50 years until his passing on January 26, 1987. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held Friday, September 5, 2014 at 6 PM at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Pastor David Woodruff, Pastor Morgan Kochenower and Pastor David Rand officiating the service. A viewing will be held from 5- 6 PM at the Funeral Home prior to the service. Burial will be next to her husband in Arlington National Cemetery. Born July 20, 1916 in Dover, Margaret was a daughter of the late Reuben E. and Goldie S. (Myers) Spahr. Mrs. Stambaugh was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in York. She was a lifelong homemaker who loved her family. Mrs. Stambaugh is survived by three daughters, Hazel M. Anderson of York, Bonnie J. Unger and her husband Ronald of York and Jane M. Fisher and her husband Randy of York; 15 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; 13 great great grandchildren; a nephew, Jason A. Gross of Dover, and two nieces, Jessie Rae Snavely of Columbia and Linda M. Anderson and her husband Elwood Jr. of Spring Grove. In addition to her husband and parents, Margaret was preceded in death by a brother, John E. Spahr and a sister, Mary Geiselman.
