Margaret Mary Cecilia (Long) Frantz

YORK Margaret Mary Cecilia (Long) Frantz, 86, died Monday, March 28, 2011 at Country Meadows Nursing Facility. She was the wife of the late Ivan E. Frantz, Sr. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11 a.m at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with the Rev. Norman Skip Spangler officiating. A viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held in Mt. Rose Cemetery following the service. Mrs. Frantz was born October 1, 1924 in Lancaster, a daughter of the late Gloid E. and Anna M. (Kirchner) Long. She worked most of her life as a homemaker caring for her family. She was a member of Mammy Ruggles Tent #50 Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War in York where she served as president for 16 years and formally served as state president. She was a member of General George A. Thomas Auxillary #19 to the Sons of the Union Veterans in Lancaster. Mrs. Frantz was a member of the Alter Guild and Friendly Daughters and Upper Room Sunday School Classes of Otterbein United Methodist Church, York. She enjoyed crocheting and needle work as her hobbies. She was also a member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. Mrs. Frantz is survived by two sons, Ivan E. Frantz, Jr. and wife Peggy of York and Karl J. Frantz and wife Kelly of Oak Park, IL.; two grandchildren, John S. Frantz and Mary A. Frantz both of York and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Frantz was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters.
