YORK- Margaret M. (Albert) McCaffery, 93, entered into rest at 2:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at Manor Care Health Services- South. She was the wife of the late Pershing H. McCaffery who passed away on December 20, 1995 A funeral service will be 11 a.m. of Thursday, November 10, 2011 at St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 1569 W. Market St., York with the Reverend Arthur Grahe officiating. A viewing will be from 10-11 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kennneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. McCaffery was born on June 19, 1918 in Uniontown, a daughter of the late George G. and Margaret L. (Herman) Albert. Margaret worked for 32 years at American Chain and Cable Company. Mrs. McCaffery was a member of St. Stephen’s U.C.C. She was also a member of Red Lion American Legion Post #543 and ACCO Women’s Welfare Club Mrs. McCaffery is survived by two daughters, Margaret M. and her husband, Larry Hershberger of Hellam and Linda R. and her husband, Thomas Spangler of York; a son, P.H. McCaffery, Jr. of Harrisburg; seven grandchildren; a brother, George H. Albert of York; and two sisters, June Emig of Florida and Barbara L. Thompson of York. Five sisters Truly May Krieger, Betty V. Rohrbaugh, Ruth Holt, Kathleen Desrosiers and Patricia E. Snyder preceded her in death. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen’s United Church of Christ, 1569 W. Market St., York, PA 17404
