Margaret Louise Irwin

YORK- Margaret “Mook” (Small) Irwin, 96, passed away Monday October 16, 2017 at York Hospital. A funeral mass will be held at 11 AM Friday, October 27, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 219 S. Beaver Street, York with Father Keith Carroll officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11 AM Friday at the church. Burial will be at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc. in York, is in charge of arrangements. Born January 7, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Edward and Gilberta (Allen) Small. Ms. Irwin retired from McCrory’s Distribution Center in 1986. She was a member of The Sophisticated Ladies Red Hat, Pennsylvania’s Keystone Painters, McCrory’s Retirement Group and The Pine Ridge Swim Club. Margaret is survived by a son Michael M. Irwin of Lake Okeechobee, FL; and a daughter Joanna M. Saponaro and husband, Phil of York. She is preceded in death by numerous brothers and sisters. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Capital Improvement Campaign at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 219 South Beaver Street, York, PA 17401.
