Margaret L. (Long) Burney

RENOVO - Margaret L. “Peggy” (Long) Burney, 76, of Farwell passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. She was born in Renovo on May 24, 1937 a daughter of the late Hubert and Genevive (Kieper) Long. Margaret was married on August 10, 1957 to Edgar C. Burney. They celebrated 56 years of marriage together. She worked as a nurse aide for Bucktail Medical Center retiring in 1996. Margaret was a 1955 graduate of Renovo High School. She was a member or the Order of Eastern Star, Renovo and served as past matron. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, bingo, watching television and spending time with her family. Surviving are her loving husband, four daughters Kathy Schy of Henderson, NV, Sandy (John) Stevenson of North Bend, Lori Hopkins of Laurens, SC and Crystal (Jeff) Palmer of Quakertown, PA. 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. One sister Jenny Lee Roy of S. Renovo. Services will be at the convenience of the family. Interment will be private. Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the Lock Haven Dialysis Center, 257 S. Hanna Street, Lock Haven, PA 17745. Maxwell Funeral Home, Renovo has charge of arrangements.
