YORK—Margaret J. (Smith) Stambaugh, 81, passed away Monday, August 9, 2021 at York Hospital. She was the wife of William H. Stambaugh to whom she was married for 59 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10AM Monday, August 23, 2021 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York. Officiating the service will be the Rev. Dr. Eddie Miller. A visitation will be held from 9-10AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. Born April 10, 1940 in York, she was a daughter of the late Russell L. and Margaret J. (Black) Smith. She was a 1959 graduate of Dover High School. She was employed as an office administrator with I. Reindollar & Son and later Tooling Dynamics before retiring from Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 as a teacher’s assistant in 2009. Mrs. Stambaugh loved spending time with her family, especially her great grandson. She loved cooking, taking beach trips and enjoyed playing cards. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Stambaugh is also survived by one granddaughter, Kara M. Stambaugh and her husband, Jesse Stoneberger of Camp Hill; one great grandson, Phoenix Stoneberger; two sisters, Louella Schaffer of Dover and Deanna Kinard of Seven Valleys; Jodi L. Stambaugh (widow of Todd) and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Todd E. Stambaugh. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Donor Services, PO Box 98018, Washington D.C., 20090-8018.
