Margaret Irene Butcher

TROY- Margaret Irene Butcher, Age 89 of Granville Summit, PA passed away Thursday, May 28, 2009 at the Bradford County Manor. Margaret was born November 7, 1919 in Millerton, PA daughter of the late Clifford and Ella Grinnell Schofield. She was married to the late Harry Butcher. Margaret was active in the Granville Center Church of Christ where she served a secretary for 50 years and was also a member of the Rebeccahs. Margaret was retired from Paper Magic she loved working outside in her yard and flowerbeds, enjoyed visiting with her grandchildren and walking until her health declined. Survivors include her daughter, Virginia Ward of Granville Summit, PA, sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald & Beatrice Butcher of Horseheads, NY, Gary & Esther Butcher and Dale & Ida Butcher all of Granville Summit, PA, brothers and sisters-in-law, Grinnell & Mary Jane Schofield, of Utica, NY, Harold & Betty Schofield of Rome, NY, daughter-in-law, Beatrice Butcher, 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her husband Harry in 2003, son James in 2000, grandson James in 2009, great-grandson Josh, sisters, Shirley Schofield, Agnes Noyes, Alice Stermer and her brother Donald Schofield. Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 PM Sunday, May 31, 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. Her service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 PM with Reverend Eric Smith officiating. Interment will be held 11 AM Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA.
