Margaret A. 'Peg' Leiby Weikel

POTTSVILLE- Margaret A. Peg Leiby Weikel, 94, resident of Orwigsburg Manor, Orwigsburg, passed away Sunday at the Manor. Born in Minersville on June 21, 1916, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Antoinette Domer. Peg graduated from Minersville High school and attended beauty school. She was a seamstress for over 20 years having worked for the former Miss Pennsylvania, Pottsville, before retiring. Peg was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Schuylkill Haven. Peg was preceded in death by her first husband, Edmund J. Leiby, Sr., who passed away in 1946; her second husband, Joseph R. Weikel, who passed away in 1980; her eight brothers and sisters. Peg is survived by her three sons, William J. Leiby, husband of Sandra, of Warren, OH, Ned J. Leiby, husband of Stephanie, of Pottsville and Robert J. Weikel, husband of Barbara, of Schuylkill Haven; her 7 grandchildren, Kimberly Swipas, Michelle Hammond, Karen Armstrong, Jennifer Krause, Robin Larsen, BJ Weikel and Amanda M. Leiby; her 16 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday morning at 10:00 A.M. at St. Ambrose Church, Schuylkill Haven. Father Michael Stone will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday morning from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at the church. Private interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery, Hillside, Pottsville.
