Margaret A. "Peg" (Hicks) Stiffler

Margaret A. “Peg” (Hicks) Stiffler, 86, passed away, Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her residence in York Township. She was the wife of the late Roman F. Stiffler, Jr. A Celebration of Life Service will be private at the convenience of the family. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born September 16, 1930 in Pulaski, VA, she was a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Madge I. (Hall) Hicks. She was a clerical worker employed with various companies throughout her career including Maple Press and Electrolux. Peg enjoyed traveling to the beach, visiting flea markets and was a 1949 graduate of Glen Rock High School. Mrs. Stiffler is survived by a daughter, Shelley A. Butcher and husband, Jonathan of York; one grandson, Matthew Butcher and wife, Heather of York; one great grandson, Carter Butcher; two brothers, Donald Hicks of FL and Glen “Sonny” Hicks of York; three sisters, Doris Duke and Shirley Jay both of York and Harriett Ansley of Shrewsbury and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Joseph “Benny” Hicks and two sisters, Lois Behler and Helen McClain.
