Mardella (Casto) Woofter Blair

YORK – Mardella (Casto) Woofter Blair, 90, went home to our Lord on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at York Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive. She was the wife of the late William Kenneth Woofter and the late Edward Eakin Blair. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 6:00 PM Tuesday, August 21, 2012 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with her Visitation Pastor, The Rev. Roland E. Garvin officiating. A viewing will be held from 4-6:00 PM Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Born May 13, 1922 in Weston, WV, she was a daughter of the late Granville and Eva (Hess) Casto. Mardella was a homemaker and Mother; she also worked for the Lewis County School System in West Virginia for 17 years. It was one of her great joys working with children and helping them learn. She was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Mrs. Blair is survived by two daughters, Paula L. Woofter Earnest and husband Wally of Vienna, WV and Leah L. Blair Dorsey and husband Richard of Glenville, WV; a son, William Kit Woofter and wife Marlene of York; six grandchildren, Gwendolen, Alicia, Bill, Zachary, Richard, and James; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, William R. Casto of Fayetteville, NC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary U.M. Church, 11 N. Richland Ave., York, PA 17404.
