Marcia K. Violante

Marcia Kay Violante, 81 of York, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many, passed peacefully at home on March 8, 2022 after a lengthy illness. Marcia was the loving wife of Larry Violante, Jr., celebrating 66 years together. Marcia and Larry were best friends, exemplified unwavering marital devotion, and were role models to many. Marcia’s true passion in life was her family but, her kindness also extended to friends, acquaintances and even strangers who quickly became enamored with her candid brand of charm. Those who had the pleasure of knowing her have a memorable, and often humorous, Marcia story to share. Marcia, known lovingly by the grandkids as RoboNana, also excelled at cooking and baking. Her edible creations were as delicious as they were picture-perfect. In her final years, she and Larry enjoyed life on the horse farm with daughter, Kimberly and husband, William. Daily, she enjoyed seeing wildlife from her windows. She especially enjoyed escapades to the barn to see and pet the horses. It is in this serene home setting, surrounded by loving family, caregivers and friends, where she met the Lord. Marcia is survived by husband, Larry Violante, Jr.; daughter, Valarie Violante and partner, Mike Rooney; son, Larry Violante, III; and daughter, Kimberly Violante Yanavitch and husband, William – all of York County. Marcia was also blessed with six grandchildren: Brent Klingel (wife Paulette), Bryon Klingel (wife Melissa), Brooke Kelly (husband Joe), Vanessa Kidd (husband Kevin), Nicholas Yanavitch (wife Sara) and Michael Yanavitch (wife Jennifer) and great-grandchildren Lauren, Taylor, Elizabeth, Emily, Knox, Rhone, Benjamin and Tanner. The Violante family is eternally grateful for the devoted in-home caregivers who have assisted Marcia over the years, especially Brandy, Missy and Amy, who were steadfast by her side through her final days. They would also like to thank the fabulous WellSpan York Hospital team who took a genuine interest in Marcia and provided heartfelt and excellent care during her stay. Their gratitude also extends to the special Hospice & Community Care nursing staff who provided comfort, kindness and compassion during this most difficult time. A celebration of life will be held for family and friends at a date to be determined later this spring/summer. Animals, nature and American Indians held a special place in Marcia’s heart. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in honor of Marcia to American Indian College Fund at https://engage.collegefund.org, Pitbulls and Parolees, Villalobos Rescue Center https://www.vrcpitbull.com/how-you-can-help/donations/ or WellSpan Health @ https://WellSpan.org/about/philanthropy/ Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements.
