MILTON - Mahala H. (Baker) Metzger, 65, died Saturday, June 28, 2014 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. She was born in Lewisburg on February 18, 1949 and was the daughter of the late Harold L. and Betty L. (Keiser) Baker. Penny married the late Carson Metzger, Jr. Penny was a graduate of Milton High School Class 1969 and then went on to attend Empire Beauty School, Sunbury. Penny worked for Middleburg Yarn for a couple years. She had attended Christ Episcopal Church, Milton and was a former member of the Eagles Club. Penny enjoyed making bead bracelets, drawing pictures for children’s story books, camping, fishing, animals and going to the Artesian well at Snydertown. Penny is survived by three brothers and one sister-in-law; Ronald H. Baker of Watsontown, George A. Baker of Montandon and Donald L. Baker of Allenwood and her companion Allen C. Hertzog of Milton. In addition to her parents, Penny was preceded in death by her first husband, Carson, Metzger, Jr., one son; Carson Metzger, III and several aunts and uncles. A gathering of friends and family will be held 9:00 – 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 03, 2014 at Christ Episcopal Church, 21 Upper Market Street, Milton, PA 17847 followed by a memorial service at 10:00a.m. with the Reverend Robert Reed Van Deusen officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Churches Cemetery, Lewisburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Animal Care Hospital, 308 Hospital Drive, Lewisburg, PA 17837. Arrangements are being handled by The Dale E. Ranck Funeral Service, 125 N. Front Street, Milton PA 17847.
