Magdalene (Jacobs) Wirsing

LANSDALE-Magdalene(Jacobs) Wirsing, 85, of Lansdale, died Sunday, March 4, 2007. Madge to her fellow workers and "Jake" to her family, was born in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania on February 4, 1922. She graduated cum laude with Meyer's High School Class of 1940 and continued her education at Wyoming Seminary. On February 12, 1945, she married Edward George Wirsing of Wilkes-Barre. Madge and Ed have been residents of the Lansdale area for 43 years. She worked for Gasboy in Lansdale until the age of 79, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lansdale. She is the beloved mother of Cynthia (and August) Rotelle of Perkasie, PA; Diana (and Alan) McFarling of Albuquerque, NM; Grandmother of Chandler David (and Gala) Gwilliam of Lansdale, PA and Christine Falter of Sachse, TX; and great grandmother of Lauren Olivia Gwilliam of Lansdale, PA. Funeral services will be held at noon on Thursday, March 8, at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main St., Wilkes-Barre. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, 1250 South Main Street, Hanover Township. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the Montgomery County SPCA, 19 East Ridge Pike, P.O. Box 222, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
