Mae Viola (Horn) Urey

YORK - Mae Viola (Horn) Urey, 93, formerly of Red Lion, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at Manor Care Health Services South in York. She was the wife of the late J. Reed Urey. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion, with a viewing from 1-2 p.m. The Reverend Steven Schmuck will be officiating at the service. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York. Mrs. Urey was born in Chanceford Township on April 4, 1920, a daughter of the late Edward and Emma (Hivner) Horn. She was an Independent Avon Representative. Some of Mrs. Urey interests included crocheting, flower gardening, and baking and she loved animals especially cats. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mrs. Urey leaves four daughters, Veronica Carter of Red Lion, Kathleen Urey-Strickler and her husband Terry of Red Lion, Paula Lapham and her husband Jay of Dallastown, and Sheilah Snyder and her husband Dale of Red Lion; a son, Allen R. Urey of Windsor; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a sister, Kathryn “Peggy” Rineholt of Red Lion.
