Mae M. (Gilbert) Gilberthorp

YORK- Mae M. (Gilbert) Gilberthorp, 84, died on Monday, March 5, 2018 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Richard Gilberthorp. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at Prospect Hill Cemetery, 700 N. George St. York with Pastor Darby Reis officiating. A funeral cortege will meet at the Pennsylvania Ave. entrance at 1:45 p.m. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. Born on May 31, 1933 in York, she was a daughter of the late Moses E. and Ruth W. (Mercer) Gilbert. Mae was a custodian at York Container for many of years. Mae was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who took pride in working hard all of her life. Mrs. Gilberthorp is survived by one son, Randall Gilberthorp of Stewartstown, two grandchildren, Jennifer Blackburn of Stewartstown; three great grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Sewell of York and Joyce Mummert of Lake Meade. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Delores Gilberthorp.
