Madeline M. Horn

YORK-Madeline M. (Swords) Horn, 96, passed away on Monday, September 25, 2023 at Autumn House West in York. She was the wife of the late Levere E. Horn.

A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2023 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York, with a viewing from 10-11 a.m. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens in York.

Mrs. Horn was born in Codorus Township on March 16, 1927, the daughter of the late Jay E. and Elizabeth (Rosh) Swords.  She worked for Yorktowne Kitchens for almost 20 years.

Mrs. Horn leaves a son, Levere E. “Jr.” Horn, Jr. of Red Lion; four daughters, Barb Dittenhafer of Loganville, Donna Redding and her husband Harold of Spring Grove, Brenda Kilgore and her husband Lon of York, and Linda Cassel and her husband David of Dover; eight grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son-in-law, David Dittenhafer and a granddaughter, Tammy Sue Redding.
