Mabel G. Rineholt

BROGUE – Mabel G. (Hengst) Rineholt, 89, passed away Friday, January 11, 2019 at York Hospital surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Sterling E. Rineholt. A viewing will be held from 6-7:30 PM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion with a Cowboy Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 PM led by her son, Chaplain Bradley L. Rineholt. There will also be a viewing from 10-11:00 AM Wednesday at Hopewell Presbyterian Church, 8426 Church Road, Felton with a Celebration of Life Tribute Service at 11:00 AM led by Rev. James Shuler. Burial will be in Round Hill Presbyterian Cemetery. Born July 10, 1929 in York, a daughter of the late Cleatus E. and Ida M. (Stump) Hengst, she was a 1947 graduate from Red Lion High School. Mrs. Rineholt had worked in a Stewartstown sewing factory as a young adult but due to her polio she worked from home as a seamstress for her community. She played piano, guitar, and sang; performing with her brother Geurian. Mabel was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church but also cherished worshiping at the various Churches of her children and their families. Mrs. Rineholt is survived by three sons, Eugene S. and wife Debra Rineholt of Stewartstown, Donald L. and wife Cindy Rineholt of Stewartstown and Bradley L. and wife Tammi Rineholt of Brogue; a daughter, Marie L. and husband Rennie Poteet of Brogue; ten grandchildren, Timothy Rineholt, Jennah (Rineholt) Kosmicki, Kara Flaharty, Alex Poteet, Brady Poteet, Liza Poteet, Jason Rineholt, Matthew Rineholt, Zach Kilgore and Lacy Kilgore; 14 great grandchildren plus another to be born in April; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Geurian Hengst, daughter-in-law Helen Rineholt, and grandsons, Shannon Rineholt and Lucas Rineholt.
