M. Martha (Eisenhart) Cunningham

York—M. Martha (Eisenhart) Cunningham, 95, passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Wm. Edward Cunningham, who passed away in 1990. Martha was born in West Manchester Twp., on March 2, 1922, the daughter of the late Curvin L. and Mary E. (Henise) Eisenhart. She was a member of the Saint Paul Lutheran Church on Trinity Rd in York. A 1941 graduate of W. York High School, she also served with the York County Farm Women Association for many years and also volunteered at York Hospital for 22 years. She retired from W. York Area School District after serving 27 years as cafeteria manager. She is survived by two daughters, Connie A. Bentzel and husband, Clair of Spring Grove and Gail E. Diehl and husband, Jacob of Thomasville; five grandchildren, Julie Lyons, Carrie Moyer, Mark Bentzel, Michele Boyer and Brian Diehl and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, William E. Cunningham; five sisters, Regina Sheets, Reba Chronister, Ruth Anderson, Edith Glatfelter and Helen Sowers; three brothers, George Reynolds, Raymond Eisenhart and Richard Eisenhart. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10AM, Monday, July 17, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Paul Gausmann officiating. A visitation will be held from 9-10AM, Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be held in St. Paul’s (Wolf’s) Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contribution in her memory may be made to Saint Paul Lutheran Church, Organ Fund, 250 Trinity Rd, York, Pa 17408.
