M. Jean (Tyson) Seidenstricker, 85, of Dallastown, died at 3:15 p.m. Thursday, November 24, 2011, at her home. She was the wife of the late Clair L. Seidenstricker, who died August 7, 1991. A viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion. A graveside funeral service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lebanon Lutheran Cemetery, Felton with the Rev. John B. Ferra, interim pastor of St.Paul (Lebanon) Lutheran Church and the Rev. Steven Schmuck, pastor of Red Lion Bible Church officiating. Mrs. Seidenstricker was born August 28, 1926, in Windsor Twp. She was the daughter of the late Pius H. and Margaret Estella Elizabeth (Mitzel) Tyson. She retired in 1991 as the person with the longest continuous employment at Yorktowne Kitchens after 47 years of service. For many years she helped to assemble the cabinets by installing the doors and later, retired as a checker. She was a member of St. Paul (Lebanon) Evangelical Lutheran Church in Felton. She was also an avid golfer and was a member of the former Red Lion Country Club. She enjoyed spending time working in the gardens around her home and was also know for the many dish cloths she knitted. Along with her late husband, she enjoyed many years of hosting family and friends at their cottage in Longport, NJ, near Atlantic City. Mrs. Seidenstricker is survived by three brothers, H. Vernon Tyson of Red Lion, W. Richard Tyson of Airville and G. Robert Tyson of Felton; one sister, Betty J. Tyson of Felton; and numerous nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by three brothers, B. Herbert Tyson, John M. Tyson, and A. Rodney Tyson; and three sisters, Nancy A. Knaper, Lorraine A. E. Tyson and Shirley E. Dunlap. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul (Lebanon) Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6955 Rippling Run Rd., Felton, PA 17322 or the Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 205, Harrisburg, PA 17110. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Heartland Hospice and all other caregivers who provided loving support to Mrs. Seidenstricker.
