M. Delores Parlett

Red Lion - Mary Delores Parlett, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 4, 2025. She was the loving wife of Marvin J. Parlett with whom she celebrated 67 years of marriage on October 12, 2024. 

Born August 25, 1937 in Windsor Township, she was the daughter of Mervin L. and Viola P. (Strayer) Heffner. She was an honor graduate of Red Lion Senior High School class of 1955. 

Delores was a lifelong member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, where she and Marvin were sextons for over 40 years. She also was a wonderful Sunday School teacher for many years and a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed working for Windsor Township Elementary, several auto businesses and Red Lion Chiropractic. 

She loved the many trips they made, especially to the mountains and the beach. She also loved to spend time with family and friends at her home. 

 In addition to her husband, Marvin, she leaves two sons. Leo J. Parlett of Kearneysville, WV and his wife, Catherine and Jay C. Parlett of Felton, PA; one grandson Ryan J. Parlett of Bellvue, KY; a sister, Linda Joines (John) of Stewartstown, PA; two brothers, Denton Heffner (Sylvia) and Bruce Heffner (Bernita) both of Red Lion, PA; sisters-in-law, Nancy Heffner and Glenda Heffner, both of Red Lion; brother-in-law, Maynard Parlett (Myrna) of Red Lion and several nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Mervin (John) Heffner, Palmer Heffner both of Red Lion and Robert Heffner and his wife Kathy of Felton and brother-in-law, Curtis Parlett and wife Flo. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be 11:00AM, Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 900 Pleasant Grove Rd, Red Lion. Officiating the service will be her pastor, the Rev. Laura Holtzapple. A viewing will be held from 10:00 – 11:00AM, Saturday at the church. Burial will be held in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

 In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Grove Cemetery Association, 10314 Enfield Road, Felton PA.
