RED LION - Lynn Ellen [Newton] Johnson, 49, died Sunday, September 16, 2007. She was the wife of Dean B. Johnson to whom she was married for 31 years. A tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, September 21, 2007 at Life Tributes by Olewiler & heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 gotham Place, Red Lion with the Rev. James M. Walters officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Friday at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Mrs. Johnson was born November 7, 1957 in Salisbury, MD; a daughter of Mack Newton, Jr. of York and the late Betty [DeGroat] Newton. She was a 1975 graduate of Central York High School and then earned her LPN degree from York County School of Technology. Mrs. Johnson was a nurse for many years at Leaders Heights Nursing Home and most recently at Wellspan Kidney Dialysis Center. Throughout her exceptional nursing career, Mrs. Johnson was a highly skilled and compassionate caregiver, whose greatest concern was always for her patients' well-being and comfort. She also volunteered with the Alzheimer's Association fundraisers where she participated in the Memory Walk for the past five years. She also volunteered with the Red Cross for wight years an d enjoyed playing the guitar, horseback riding, and photography. She was a deeply spiritual and sensitive person, who was inspired by the unselfish devotion of Sister Theresa. As a loving wife and mother, and for all who knew her, Mrs. Johnson set an example of unconditional love, extraordinary courage, and profound commitment to both family and friends. In addition to her husband and father, Mrs. Johnson is survived by a daughter, Jasmine E. Johnson of Red Lion; two sons, Chad B. Johnson of dallastown and Daniel C. Johnson of Red Lion; and two brothers, Kevin A. Newton of York and Stephen A. Newton of kingsport, TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Lynn E. Johnson may be made to Lupus Foundation of America, Inc., P.O. Box 631047, Baltimore, MD 21263-1047 or to your favorite charity.
