Lynn B. Pelton

WELLSBURG - Lynn B. Pelton, Age 88 of Gillett, PA, Ridgebury Township passed away Monday, January 23, 2012 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Elmira, NY. Mr. Pelton was born January 14, 1924 in Sayre, PA son of the late Robert & Hazel (Borden) Pelton. He was a graduate of Towanda High School and was a veteran of the US Army. Lynn served his country in WW II in the European Theater of Operations. He and the former H. Jacqueline “Jackie” (Weller) Pelton were married on May 29, 1948 and celebrated 63 years together. Lynn was employed as a machinist for Eclipse, Bendix and Purolator and had work side by side for 16 years with his son Jeff at Jeff’s Westside Service Center in West Elmira. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Jackie of Bentley Gillett, PA, son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery & Penny Pelton of Gillett, daughter and son-in-law, Sandra & Brian Congdon of Gillett, grandchildren, Byron Congdon, Shaine Congdon, Shelby Pelton, Desiree Congdon, James Pelton, five great-grandchildren, two sisters and a brother-in-law, Lynnette Edkins of Watkins Glen, NY, Janice & Racky Hatch of New Albany, PA, nieces, nephews and friends. Lynn was predeceased by his parents, step-brothers and step-sisters. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 28, 2012 from 6 to 7 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Funeral and committal services will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 7 PM with Reverend James Ellis of the Bentley Creek Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Bradford County Memorial Park, Luthers Mills, PA.
