Lynn A. Bechdel

Mill Hall - Lynn A. Bechdel, 70 of Luepold Lane, passed away, Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at his residence. He was born July 12, 1938 in Beech Creek a son of the late William & Florence (Kitchen) Bechdel. Lynn was married on June 13, 1983 to the former Shelvia J. Geraty they celebrated 25 years of marriage. He retired from Glenn O. Hawbaker Construction as a foreman. He was co-owner of the Hilltop Tavern, Lock Haven. Lynn was a member of the Beech Creek American Legion, Howard, VFW and he was an avid gardener and enjoyed hunting. He served in the Marines. Surviving are his loving wife and three sons Wayne (Bonnie) Bechdel of Lock Haven, William (Mary) Bechdel of Lock Haven and Robert (Gwen) Bechdel of Mill Hall. one step-son Daryl McDermit of Mill Hall and also a step-daughter Kimberly McDermit of Mill Hall. Six grandchildren two great grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. Several Nieces and nephews. One brother Daniel Bechdel of Beech Creek and three sisters Martha Smoyer of Bellefonte, Lois Confer, Monument, Mary Lou Evers of Rebersburg. He was preceded in death by a step-son Philip McDermit and a step-daughter Mary Catherine McDermit and four brothers Harry, Merle, Donald and LeRoy. A memorial service will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 26, 2008 at First Church of Christ, Lock Haven with the Rev. Bo King officiating. Friends and relatives will be received from 9:00 - 11:00 A.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall.
