Lock Haven - Luella M. Myers, age 94, died at the Lock Haven Extended Care Unit, where she had been a resident for almost two years, on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2008. She was born in North Bend on October 1, 1913, daughter of the late LeRoy and Myrtle (Kepler) Aikeley. She was a graduate of Renovo High School in 1932 and was a faithful member of the People's Church in Farrandsville since 1936. Luella saw many changes throughout the years and was active in Homecoming at the Church, cub scouting, was a former Sunday school teacher and, over the years, has held many offices in the Church. She enjoyed family vacations in Pine Creek, loved to cook for her family and friends, and enjoyed spending family time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved flowers, especially African Violets. Luella is survived by her two sons: Douglas (Hazel) Myers of Swissdale and Edward (Carol) Myers of Lock Haven, brother: Raymond (Fern) Aikeley of Swissdale and sister: Ruth (Edward) Myers of Lock Haven. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Lamont W. Myers in 1980, sister: Rose Shroat, and brother: Allen Aikeley. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation at the Helt Funeral Chapel, 232 Hogan Blvd., Mill Hall from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008.(This day and time have been changed due to weather conditions) A memorial service will be held at the People's Church in Farrandsville at a later date and the day and time will be published when completed.
