YORK- Lucy J. (Paquin) Dandelski, 89, of Springettsbury Township, passed away Friday, November 5, 2021 at her residence. She was the wife of James M. Dandelski. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on September 22, 2021. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 219 S. Beaver Street, in York, with a viewing from noon - 1 p.m. The service will be webcast live at HeffnerCare.com, by searching Lucy’s obituary. The Very Reverend John Bateman, J.C.L., V.F., will be officiating at the service. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York is in charge of the arrangements. Lucy was born in Jamestown, NY on February 19, 1932, the daughter of the late Herman J. and Hazel A. (Strunk) Paquin. She worked for the NY State Department of Labor. After having her children, she became a stay-at-home mom until her children were grown, at which time she became the credit manager for Kwik Kopy in Jamestown. Prior to Mrs. Dandelski becoming a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church here in York, she was a member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish in Jamestown. She was a 1950 graduate of Jamestown High School and graduated in 1954 from Lake Erie College, where she spent a semester studying in Grenoble, France. She spent summers at the family home in Prendergast Point on Lake Chautauqua and later in life she enjoyed sharing her lake experience with her family. Mrs. Dandelski leaves a daughter, Jane E. Dietz of York; a son, Dr. John R. Dandelski and his wife Carrie Regan of Knoxville, TN; three grandchildren, Connor D. Dietz, Cooper J. Dietz, and Marshall W. Dandelski; a sister, Ann Marie Anderson of Winchester, MA; and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister Carolyn E. (Paquin) Ecklund and brother Joseph H. Paquin. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 219 S. Beaver Street, York, PA 17403 or a charity of choice. The family would like to thank the WellSpan Hospital at Home, WellSpan VNA, and AseraCare Hospice for the wonderful care given during her final weeks.
