WILKES-BARRE- Lucina J. 'Luci' Daniels, 77, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia. Born in Larksville, PA, on October 15, 1936 to James L. and Stella Wylie, Sr. She graduated from Larksville High School Class of 1954. Luci was a homemaker and dedicated to her family and faith. A lifelong member of St. Clement and St. Peter Episcopal Church, she was very active in all aspects of church life. Luci served as head of the Altar Guild, was a member of the choir, and served multiple terms as a Vestry member. She was also a Lay Eucharistic Minister and enjoyed leading Morning Prayer services and visiting the sick and homebound members. A member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 38 years, she belonged to Wilkes-Barre Chapter Number 90 and was a Past Matron in the organization. Wilkes-Barre Chapter #90 will provide a Memorial service at 7:30 PM on Tuesday. She was also an active member of the Ruby Slippers chapter of the Red Hat Society. Since retirement, Luci kept busy going on cruises with her husband, traveling, going to the casino and was an avid golfer. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James L. 'Sonny' Wylie, Jr. Surviving are her husband of 40 years, Dorrance N. Daniels, her children, sons Glenn R. Miller, Luzerne, Eric J. Miller and wife, Jacqueline, Pittsburgh, and daughter, Linda S. Castrine and husband, Pasquale, Nanticoke. She also leaves behind two grandchildren, Samantha Miller and Jessica Miller, a sister, Sandra Auker, and brothers John Wylie, William Wylie and wife Audrey Wylie, and Gary Wylie, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014, at 11:00 AM at St. Clement & St. Peter Church, 165 Hanover Street, Wilkes-Barre, with the Reverend John C. Major officiating. The family ask that you go directly to the church as there will be no funeral procession from the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Clement & St. Peter Church, 165 Hanover Street, Wilkes-Barre.
