Lucille Naomi (Keller) Kocher

YORK- Lucille Naomi (Keller) Kocher, 80, died on Friday, September 23, 2022 at York Hospital. She was the wife of the late Duane Leroy Kocher, who died in May of 2019. The couple had been married for 57 years.

Born on February 19, 1942 in York, she was a daughter of the late Harold Keller and the late Ruth (Hildebrand) Keller.

Lucy graduated from York High in 1960 and was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hellam. She retired after many years working as a deli clerk at Weis Markets.

Lucy’s life was fulfilled by her never ending desire to do for others; family, friends, neighbors, and new acquaintances alike. In recent years, the blessing of great-grandchildren rekindled her love for life and added to her purpose. Her loss will touch many lives, all happy to have known and loved her.

Mrs. Kocher is survived by her son, Gregory Kocher of York; daughter, Nicole Rentzel and her companion, Gary Moore of York; four grandchildren, Nathan Kocher and his wife, Lauren, Abby Fishel and her husband, Brett, Levi Rentzel and his wife, Lauren and Wyatt Rentzel; three great grandchildren, Sarah Kocher, Thomas Kocher and Carter Fishel; brother, Samuel Keller and his wife, Sue of York; two sisters, Dorothy Newcomer of York and Deborah Albright and her husband, George of York; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved Sheltie, Dakota. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Keller and Jack Keller; and two sisters, Patricia Keller and Linda Barshinger.

Services for Mrs. Kocher are private at the convenience of the family. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trail, York, PA 17406.
