Lucille L. (Reiker) Pittenger

YORK-Lucille L. (Reiker) Pittenger, 96, passed away peacefully Friday, April 15, 2011 at ManorCare Health Services South. She was the loving wife of the late Richard T. Bud Pittenger. A celebration of life service will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2011 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York, with her pastor, the Rev. Kevin T. Shively officiating. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Greenmount Cemetery. Mrs. Pittenger was born November 12, 1914 in York, a daughter of the late Elmer L. and Clara Irene (Shaffer) Reiker. She was a former employee of T. E. Brooks Company for 35 years until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of St. Mathew Evangelical Lutheran Church, York. Mrs. Pittenger enjoyed camping with her family; sewing; and in later years, spending time with her two great grandsons. Mrs. Pittenger is survived by a daughter, Doris J. Lippy and husband, Robert E. of Dallastown; two granddaughters, Sharon L. Becker of York, and Allison J. Christine and husband, Jamie of Felton; two great grandsons, Ross J. and Reed W. Christine of Felton; several nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janet Becker; a brother; and two sisters.
