Lucille Kathleen Burns Eberly

YORK- Lucille Kathleen Burns Eberly, 70, passed away, October 30, 2007 with family by her side after a courageous battle against cancer. - Those blessed enough to know her loving character, compassionate spirit, and lively personality will be forever grateful and changed for the better. She was the wife of the late Donald R. Eberly, Sr. who passed away in June of 1974. The couple was married on August 5, 1955. A Celebration of Life Service will be 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2007 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd. in York. Viewings will be held Friday from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday from 10-11a.m. Flowers will be accepted at the funeral home or donations can be made in her name to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Eberly was born in York on May 28, 1937, a daughter of the late Robert O. Burns Sr., and the late Della Irene Frey Burns. She leaves a daughter, Lisa Lynn Eberly Terrill and her husband Steve of Anchorage, Alaska, a son, Donald R. Eberly, II and his partner Jeff Collard of Atlanta, GA, a brother Robert Burns, Jr. of Harrisburg, two half brothers: Gregory and Gary Ruppert, both of York and a step-mother, L. Frances Burns of York. She attended West York High School and Yorktowne Business Institute prior to working at Maple Press, York, PA, as a Scheduler for 13 years. She retired from this position in 2001 to work from home for the Eberly Public Relations Firm.
