YORK - Lucille F. "Teddy" (Creegan) Warner, 83, passed away Friday, November 19, 2010 at her home in York. She was the wife of the late Harold L. Warner to whom she was married since 1951. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York with her pastor, The Rev. Kevin T. Shively officiating. Viewings will be held from 7-9:00 PM Tuesday at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York and from 12-1:00 PM Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born February 22, 1927 in Cumberland, MD, the daughter of the late Francis J. and Elsie (Reuschel) Creegan, she was a 1945 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland and also attended Davis and Elkins College in Elkins, WV on an academic scholarship. She was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Cumberland, where she and Harold were married. Mrs. Warner had worked at Applied Electronics and American Chain and Cable Co. in York and prior to that she worked at Celanese Corp. in Cumberland. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church and its WELCA Circle 4 group; "Alpenrose" German American Society; and volunteered for more than 30 years with Meals on Wheels. Teddy was most at home in her kitchen, cooking for countless meals and celebrations for her family and friends, traveling with her late husband and their close friends, and loved ice skating for hours at a time in her younger years. Mrs. Warner is survived by a daughter, Jane L. Warner of York; two sons, William L. and wife Elizabeth Warner of Red Lion and Daniel E. and wife Mitzie Warner of Stewartstown; six grandchildren, Charlaine Redpath, Billie Jo, Andrew, Chad, Marcus, and Danny Warner; two great grandchildren, Nicholas Redpath and Chloe Warner; a brother, William J. Creegan of La Vale, MD; two nieces; and six nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward "Boots" Creegan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Assoc., 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043 or to St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 839 W. Market St., York, PA 17401.
