Lucille A. (Hickok) Gernert, 83, of Troy, PA went to be with her Lord on Monday, April 13, 2009 at the Sayre House in Sayre, PA. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene K. Gernert who passed away in 1965. Family and friends are welcome to call from 5:00-7:00 PM on Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at the Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street, Troy, PA. The funeral service to honor Lucille's life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, April 16, 2009 at the First Baptist Church of Troy, 162 Canton Street Troy, PA, with her pastor, Rev. Garry Zuber, officiating. Burial will be in Bradford County Memorial Park at the convenience of the family. Lucille was born on August 24, 1925 in Troy, PA the daughter of the late Arthur and Annabelle (Wheeler) Hickok. She was a Troy High School graduate and after worked for Sylvania and ASL. Lucille was a member of the First Baptist Church of Troy, a past Sunday school teacher, and helped with the church newsletter. She enjoyed being with family and friends. Especially the times she spent with her grandchldren and great-grandchildren. She had a love and talent for painting. She was the kindest, most soft spoken truelly remarkable woman anyone has had the honor to know. Lucille is survived by her children: Jennifer (Keith) Ayres of Troy, PA, B. Lee Gernert-Larrea of Elmira, NY, Sharon (Bryon) Joiner of Canton, PA, Nancy Gernert, Jack (Donna) Gernert of Florida, Don (Elaine) Gernert of Texas, and Steve (Carol) Gernert of West Virginia, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, brothers Raymond (Muriel) Hickok and Willis Hickok, sisters: Elizabeth "Betty" (Harmon) Blow, Marian Bly, Ada (Marion) Miller, Janet Williams, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene, and her son Donnie Gernert. Memorial may be made in Lucille's memory to the First Baptist Church of Troy, 162 Canton Street Troy, PA 16947.
