Louise V. (Haines) Cressman

YORK – Louise V. (Haines) Cressman, 92, passed away Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Normandie Ridge Senior Living Community where she resided for 15 years. She was the wife of the late Mark E. Cressman to whom she was married for 60 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held 10 AM, Saturday, July 11, 2015 at Heffner Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., York with The Reverend David Blinker, the chaplain of Normandie Ridge officiating. A visitation will be held from 9 – 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Born March 3, 1923 in Allentown, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Verdi (Mest) Haines. Louise retired from Bell Telephone Company in Allentown where she worked as an operator and supervisor for over 15 years. Mrs. Cressman also worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Company in York as well as Johnson’s Telephone Company. Louise was a member of Advent Lutheran Church in York, and graduated from Allentown High School in 1941. She enjoyed music, dancing and musicals. Mrs. Cressman is survived by two daughters, Barbara Padley and husband Dave of Nashua, NH, and Michele George and husband Edward of Harleysville, PA; four grandchildren, David Padley and wife Kristi of Purcellville, VA, Julie Goulet and husband John of Nashua, NH, Matthew Suplicki and Geoffrey George, both of Harleysville, PA; and four great-grandchildren, Joshua and Calley Goulet, and Cameron and Conor Padley. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 1775 East Market Street York, PA 17402, and Memorial White Rose Hospice, 1412 6th Ave., York, PA 17403.
