Louise (Maciolek) Katkowski Gromala

DUPONT-Louise (Maciolek) Katkowski Gromala, 85, formerly of Dupont, passed away Tuesday at the Village at Greenbriar, Dallas. Born in Duryea on December 13, 1922, she was one of 20 children of the late Annabelle Maciolek Melvin. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont. Prior to retiring, she was employed by Topps Chewing Gum. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert Katkowski; second husband, John Gromala; and daughters Joan D. Miskiel and Mary Polkowski. Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph and Barbara Katkowski, Goulsboro; Robert "Bob" and Cecelia Katkowski, Forty Fort; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Joseph Watson, Endicott, NY; grandchildren, Joseph, David, Christopher, and Jennifer Watson; Cheryl Howatch, Amy Gohsler,Bruno and Richard Wilkens; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be held Saturday at 9:30 a.m. from Kniffen O'Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 728 Main St., Avoca, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, Dupont with Father Joseph D. Verespy officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
