YORK- Louise L. (Bartlett) Kitsch, 88, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013 at Manor Care Health Services, South in York. She was the wife of the late Peter F. Kitsch, Sr., to whom she was married 38 years. A Celebration of Life tribute service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2013 at 2 PM at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 2650 Freysville Rd., with her Pastor, The Reverend Paul N. Frank officiating. A viewing will be held from 1-2 PM prior to the service. Burial will be in Quarryville Cemetery at Mt. Eden Lutheran Church on Monday, December 16. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel, Inc., 35 Gotham Place in Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born March 1, 1925, in Rockaway Beach, Queens, New York, Louise was a daughter of the late James G. and Anita G. (Schmidt) Bartlett. She worked in customer service with her last employer being The Brown Cow, for five years until her retirement in 2008. Louise was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Freysville and Mt. Eden Lutheran Church in Quarryville. She was a member of the Retired Group at Emanuel Lutheran Church and the Red Lion Senior Center. Louise was an avid baseball fan, especially the Phillies, and was a little league mom while raising her children. She liked to crochet, knit and sew. She loved to fish, worked in a bait shop for a time, and even held a record for a fish she caught in New York. Louise was an amazing cook. She had recipes published in Kitchen Kettle Village cookbooks, and won awards at the Rhubarb Festival at Kling House Restaurant. Mrs. Kitsch is survived by two sons, Peter F. Kitsch, Jr. of Lampeter and George McAfee of Sacramento, CA; two daughters, Jayme Smith of Belcamp, MD and Mary Lou Pelliccio of Phoenix, AZ; seven grandchildren, including, Ashleigh Nelson of York, Amanda Rowland of Red Lion, Nicholas Kitsch of Richland and Gavin Kitsch of Lampeter; several great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews including Robert and Joan Johnson of Hawley, PA and Hilton Head, NC. In addition to her husband and parents, Louise was preceded in death by a daughter, Jean Clare Davis;grandson, Kevin Davis; brother, Frank Nolan; and five sisters, Isabel Brooke, Carol Porzio, Doris Maleh, Cathleen Grimes and Edith Bolduc.
