Louise E. (Lowe) Smith

WELLSBURG, NY - Louise E. (Lowe) Smith, Age 91 of South Main Street, Athens, PA passed away Sunday, February 10, 1023 at the Robert Packer Hospital. Louise was born October 8, 1921 in Elmira, NY daughter of the late Harold L. & Marjorie B. (Geotcheous) Lowe. She was a graduate of Southside High School. Louise and the late William D. Smith were married November 5, 1944. She was a retiree of F.M. Howell in Elmira, NY following many years of employment there. Louise was a member of the Bentley Creek Baptist Church and enjoyed playing bingo, word search puzzles and watching game shows and QVC on TV. Surviving are a daughter Lucille A. McMillen of Ithaca, NY, three sons, Mark W. Smith, Thomas L. & Diane F. Smith and Dean E. & Linda A. Smith all of Bentley Creek, PA, grandchildren, Phillip C. Rhoades II, Mitchell D. McMillen, Denise Ellis, Mark Smith, Jr., Danielle Smith, Brittany Smith, Renee’ Smith, Kristie Vosburgh, Tiffany Smith, Zachary Smith, fifteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Louise was predeceased by her parents, husband William D. Smith on October 6, 2001, a brother Kenneth Lowe and her sister Alice Lowe. Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM at the Roberts Funeral Home Inc. 279 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Her funeral service will be held at the conclusion of calling hours at 8 PM with Reverend Ted Davis officiating. Interment will be in Bentley Creek Cemetery when weather permits.
