A Love Letter to Louise B. Lichty, Born July 8, 1933. Died March 21, 2024
Dear Mom:
We love you eternally as a friend, role model, leader, community anchor, sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and wife. We love you because you were the wild middle child of firebrands Minerva [Ziegler] and Clarence Albright of Pleasureville, York County. You came into this world on a mission to create fun and beauty in the lives you touched. We love you because you embraced life fervently, connecting deeply with people and their authentic life stories. We love you for your life-long devotion to caring for families, your own above all. Yet, your capacious heart enveloped many others with love and compassion, adopting families as your own as they adopted you. We love you because your spirit was free and irrepressible, your dreams large, and your soul fearless in achieving ambitious, often trailblazing pursuits. You labored prodigiously and excelled in ways that created beauty and enriched the lives of those you cared for and loved. You built and cherished an elegant home in York City, while eager for an expansive world view, travelling afar, ever grateful for having lived a good life. We love you as that untiring changemaker, courageous and undaunted in facing adversity. You strived to improve others’ lived experiences, generous in sharing the fruits of your well-lived life, ever ready with helping hands and advice for any life situation. We love you because you treasured the gifts of humor and love, always gave more than you received, and always selfless in nurturing us. Had you been born in another era, surely you would have been, in addition, architect, designer, thought leader, and CEO. Forever Grateful, Your Loving Daughters
