WELLSBURG- Lorraine Margaret (Gray) Benjamin, 76, of Lowman, NY passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. She was the loving wife of the late William F. Benjamin. The couple married June 16, 1955 and had 45 happy years together. Lorraine was born on September 19, 1937 in Elmira, NY, daughter of the late Lehman A. and Margaret (Dates) Gray. She worked hard all her life and retired from Management of the 7-11 Convenience Store in Wellsburg in 1992. She was an avid reader, enjoyed working on a variety of puzzles, music, dancing and watching old Westerns. She was a true animal lover; always having pet dogs, cats, and even ducks. Lorraine was Christian by faith. To Lorraine the most important thing in life was her family. Her family includes: her sons; Michael W. (Nancy) Benjamin of Lowman, NY, James M. (Teri) Benjamin of Elmira, NY, and Joseph L Benjamin of Elmira, NY, her grandchildren; Angela (Joel) Mansfield of Corning, NY, Billy Benjamin and Brian Benjamin, both of Lowman, NY, her great grandchildren; Aarika Mansfield, Ryan Mansfield, and Frankie Benjamin, along with several nieces and nephews. Lorraine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bill “Benji”, and her sister Betty Gerow. Family and friends are welcome to call from 2:00-5:00 pm on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at the Roberts Funeral Home, Inc. 279 Main Street Wellsburg, NY. The funeral service to honor Lorraine’s life will be held at the conclusion of the calling hours at 5:00 pm at the funeral home with Rev. Bill Vallet of the Pine City Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made in Lorraine’s memory to the American Cancer Society 1316 College Ave. Elmira, NY 14901.
