Lorraine E. (Burg) Bentzel

DOVER- Lorraine E. (Burg) Bentzel, 98, died on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the wife of the late Clyde F. Bentzel to whom she was married for 46 years. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd., York, with Certified Celebrant Debe Snyder officiating. Viewings will be from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Rose Cemetery. Born on May 6, 1923 in York, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Agusta (Emig) Burg. Lorraine was a waitress at Tremont Restaurant in York many years ago. Mrs. Bentzel was a member of First Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School. She had a heart of gold and loved spending time with her great grandchildren. Lorraine is survived by two sons, Robert E. Boyer and his wife, Holly of Dover and David Bentzel of Baltimore, MD; daughter, Linda Bentzel of Dover; 15 grandchildren including Jamie Bentzel; numerous great grandchildren including Kayla and Ashley; numerous great great grandchildren including Tanner and Gracie; and her dog, Leo. She was preceded in death by two sons, Walter R. Boyer and Clyde F. “Butch” Bentzel, Jr.; and two sisters, Martha Spiese and Janet Decker.
