KINGSTON-Loretta “ Sis” Miner, 92, formerly of Wilkes-Barre, passed away peacefully Monday evening at The Laurels, Kingston. Born on August 20, 1918 in Wilkes-Barre, she was a daughter of the late Louis and Elizabeth (Alles) Reidlinger. “Sis” grew up in Wilkes-Barre and attended GAR Memorial High School. She was a former member of Parrish Street United Methodist Church and later a member of Albright United Methodist Church, Wilkes-Barre. She was active in church functions. Prior to retirement, she worked for the Wilkes-Barre (Meyers) Public Schools. She was an avid fan of Philadelphia Sports, especially the Phillies. Surviving are her loving sons, Robert L. Miner and his wife, Beth, Forty Fort; James A. Miner and his wife, Lorraine, Hunlock Creek; a loving daughter, Karen Scott, Lake Mohawk; NJ; 9 grandchildren; 14 great –grandchildren; a sister, Carolyn Hyde, Conyngham; several nieces and nephews. “Sis” was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Robert H. Miner, who died December 8, 2008; two sisters, Angeline Elko and Josephine Fairchild; 6 brothers, John, Christopher, Louis, Elmer, William and Anthony. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at Kniffen O’Malley Funeral Home, Inc., 465 S. Main Street, Wilkes-Barre. Officiating will be the Reverend Carol E. Coleman. Interment will be in Fern Knoll Burial Park, Dallas. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Albright United Methodist Church.
