Loretta R. Alexander

Milton - Loretta R. Alexander, 101 a former resident of Rockwell Center, Broadway and Catawissa died Wednesday, January 16, 2008 at Mt. Carmel Nursing Home where she was a patient for 16 months. She was born May 24, 1906 at Buffalo Cross Roads the daughter of John & Mary (Rowe) Rhodes. Loretta was preceded in death by her first husband Leo Geagan, second husband Ralph Cherrington and her third husband Chester Alexander. She worked at the former Regal Shirt Factory in Catawissa. Loretta was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Milton Historical Society. She was a former member of the Evangelical Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, Milton Garden Club and the Catawissa American Legion. Loretta was a 1924 graduate of Milton High School and she enjoyed gardening. Surviving are one Son Rodney (Suzi) Cherrington of Reno, NV Three daughters Gloria Kline of Bloomsburg, Connie R. Stosney of Pennsauken, NJ and Shirley Beachum of Long Boat Key, FL 11 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren 11 great-great-grandchildren She was preceded in death by a Son Edward A. Cherrington A Private funeral service will be held with Rev. Douglas J. Seagle officiating. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery.
