Loretta M. (Schneider) Devine

ORWIGSBURG - Loretta M. Devine, 87, of Pottsville, died Friday at Seton Manor, Orwigsburg. Born in Pottsville, on August 23, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Carl F. and Aranetta V. Klare Schneider. She was a 1939 graduate of Pottsville Catholic High School. Loretta furthered her education by graduating from the Pottsville Hospital School of Nursing. She was married on May 4, 1946 to the late James J. Devine, who died Sept. 1, 2003. She was a member of the St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. She was involved in the Girl Scouts for many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: G. Robert Schneider and John K. Schneider. Surviving Loretta are: a son, John C. Devine, Pottsville; three daughters, Kathleen M. and her husband Victor Cole, of Meridian, ID; Joan M. and her husband Michael Kitsock, of Pottsville; Ann L. and her husband Daniel Krynock, of Hummelstown, PA; four grandchildren, Sean Cole and his wife Melissa, Timothy Cole, Jennifer Krynock, and James Kitsock; and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 AM from the St. Patrick's Church, Pottsville. The Rev. Edward O'Connor will officiate. Family and friends may call from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home Inc. 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville on Monday evening, from 7 - 9 PM and Tuesday morning at the church from 9-10 AM.
