Lois R. (Ruppert) Golden

Dover—Lois R. (Ruppert) Golden, 77, died Monday, May 23, 2016 at York Hospital. She was the wife of Larry R. Golden to whom she was married for 58 years. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, May 27, 2016 at Salem Lutheran Church, 2001 George Street, Dover with her pastor, the Rev. Amy Northridge officiating. A viewing will be held from 9-10:30 AM, Friday at the church. Burial will be held in Salem Union Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Rd, York is in charge of arrangements. Born December 17, 1938 in York County, she was a daughter of the late Oscar and Helen (Jacobs) Ruppert. She was employed as a dietary aide with Country Meadows of York-West for 20 years until her retirement in 2014. Her previous employment was with Dr.’s Tart & Morrells as an assistant, where she worked for 21 years. A member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dover, she loved her family, friends and her church, talked to everyone and was a friend to all. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Golden is also survived by two daughters, Kimberly S. Smith and her husband, David of York and Kerri A. Kwiatkowski and her husband, Michael of Baltimore; three grandchildren, Christopher and Benjamin Smith and Darren Moreland and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Jay Ruppert and three sisters, Ethel Falkenstein, Dorothy Bohnert and Caroline Frantz. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Salem Lutheran Church, 2001 George Street, Dover, Pa 17315 or American Cancer Society, 924 N. Colonial Ave, York, Pa 17403.
