RENOVO - Lois M. Casper, 69, died at Geisinger Medical Center on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. She was born in Bellefonte on April 7, 1940, daughter of the late Chester Welch and Romaine (Bressler) Welch. Lois was a member of the North Bend United Methodist Church and sometimes attended the Assembly of God Church. She was very involved in the church at North Bend, being a minister's assistant, taught Sunday school and Bible studies, and worked with the Youth Group. She loved family time, especially with her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She was an excellent homemaker and worked for some time at the former Nestlerode Shoe store in Renovo. Lois was preceded in death by her husband-Gerald B. Casper in Dec. 1983 and one sister-Wanda Brookens. Surviving is her son: Gerald "Noonie" (Kelly) Casper of Renovo, daughter: Deborah (Gary) Stewart of S. Renovo, grandchildren: Brad Casper & fiance Rachel Coran, Amy Stewart, Gary Stewart Jr., Shane Casper, Cierra Casper, and Jena Frankenburger, and great granddaughter: Kayli Casper. Also surviving are her brothers: Chester Welch Jr. of Erie, and Joseph Welch of Lancaster sisters: Donna Wagner of Renovo and Linda Steigauff of Lancaster, and numerous nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes there will be no public visitation. Private family funeral services will be held at the Maxwell funeral Home in Renovo at the convenience of the family with Pastor Stephen Coran officiating. Interment will be in North Bend Cemetery next to her husband. Memorials are requested to the North Bend United Methodist Church or Faith Fellowship Worship Center, 216 Allegheny Street, Jersey Shore, Pa. 17740.
