POTTSVILLE - Lois E. Fels, 82, of Pottsville, died Monday night at the Schuylkill Medical Center East, Pottsville. Born in Palmerton on July 23 1931, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Verna V. Meyers Stewart. She was a 1949 graduate of Lansford High School. On March 15, 1952 she married the late Theodore A. Fels, who died Oct 29 1995. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Pottsville, where she was a member of the Freda Hoh Circle. She was a 50 year member of the Lansford Eastern Star Lodge 123, a volunteer for Luther Ridge. Lois was a member of the Schuylkill Haven Senior Citizens, T.O.P.S. (take off pounds sensibly) and the Am erican Legion Post 123, Landsford. She is survived by: a son, Mark T. Fels and his wife Melanie, Pottsville; a daughter Sandra L. and her husband Thomas McMurtrie, Pottsville; four grandchildren, Thomas and his wife Nicole McMurtrie, Luke McMurtrie, Bruce McMurtrie and Michelle and her husband Dave Walasavage; five great grandchildren, Jack, Ty and Bo McMurtrie and Derek and Leah Walasavage; a brother Robert M. Stewartand his wife Barbera, Long Island, NY; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Lois was preceded in death by: a son Bruce Fels and a granddaughter Melinda Riccio. Family and friends may call on Thursday evening from 6-8 PM from the Schlitzer Allen Pugh Funeral Home, Inc., 6th & W. Market St., Pottsville. Graveside services will be held on Friday morning at 10 AM at the Grand Army Cemetery, Summit Hill, PA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either Trinity Lutheran Church, 3rd & W. Arch St., Pottsville PA 17901 or Luther Ridge, 160 Red Horse Rd., Pottsville, PA 17901.
