Llewellyn A. Mitzel

Dallastown—Llewellyn A. Mitzel, 73, died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at York Hospital. He was the husband of Carrie M. (Blouse) Mitzel. The couple celebrated 48 years of marriage August 10th. A Graveside Service will be 11 A.M., Saturday, October 22, 2011 at Susquehanna Memorial Gardens, 250 Chestnut Hill Rd, York, with the Rev. Curtis R. Weber, of St. John’s (Blymire’s) United Church of Christ officiating. A funeral cortege will form at the cemetery’s main entrance at 10:45 A.M. Life Tributes by Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements. Born November 13, 1937 in Chanceford Township, he was a son of the late Norman and Lillie (Haugh) Mitzel. He was a dedicated and extremely hard working employee with Stewart & Tate for 51 years, where he was a heavy equipment operator. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, growing vegetables in his garden, trips to casinos and his dogs. In addition to his wife, Mr. Mitzel is also survived by his son, Jason M. Mitzel of Dallastown and his fiancée, Rachelle L. Herbst, three grandchildren, Lexi Herbst, Arthur Boyer and Nina Burns, one brother, Lloyd Mitzel of Felton, three sisters, Betty Swords of Red Lion, Florence Sweitzer of Dallastown and Anna Miller of Emigsville and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by four brothers, Paul, Mervin, Denny and Harold Mitzel. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to SPCA, 3159 N. Susquehanna Trial, York, Pa 17406.
