Lillian C. Meckley

YORK - Lillian C. (Kuske) Meckley, 91, passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home. She was the wife of the late James W. Meckley to whom she married on April 15, 1945. A celebration of life tribute service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, November 27, 2017 at Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York with Rev. Judy McKee officiating. A visitation will be held from 10-11:00 AM Monday at the Funeral Chapel. Mrs. Meckley was born on July 5, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI a daughter of the late John and Evelyn Kuske. As an avid bridge player, Mrs. Meckley was a member of many bridge clubs; loved spending time tending to her garden and yard; and was a Square Dance and Round Dance enthusiast. Mrs. Meckley was a member of Union Lutheran Church and YMCA Exercise Club. Mrs. Meckley is survived by a daughter, Lisa L. Roberts and husband Mark of York; a son, James W. Meckley, II and wife Brenda of Berlin, MD; two grandsons, James W. Meckley and Joseph B. Meckley; and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Irene Keebler. Memorial contributions may be made to any local animal rescue organizations.
