RENOVO - Lillian B. “Bette” (Beiser) Cole, 87, died Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Bucktail Medical Center, Renovo. She was born October 3, 1925 in Little Marsh, and was the daughter of the late Walter Beiser. Lillian graduated from Westfield High School in 1944. She was married to the late Clifford D. Cole on October 5, 1946, in which they celebrated 52 years of marriage until his death May 18, 1998. Lillian worked as a U.S. Postmaster in Cross Fork for 10 years. She was a founding member of Sunset Memorial Church in Tamarack, and was an active member of the woman’s bible study group in the church, a member of the Tamarack Grange #1388, Pennsylvania State Grange, National Grange, as well as an active supporter of the Volunteer Cross Fork Fire and Ambulance Company, in which she participated in numerous fundraising activities including bake sales and craft sales. Lillian also enjoyed writing the Hammersly Fork News Column that was published in the Renovo Record and the Lock Haven Express. She also enjoyed keeping up with the many citizens of the community. Bette loved life, loved her friends and family but above all, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Lillian is survived by one son; Brian L. Cole and fiancé Dianne Laub, of Tulsa, OK, two grandsons; Craig C. Cole and Anthony W. Cole, both of Norman, OK, one great granddaughter; Elizabeth M. Cole, of Lawton, OK, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Along with her parents, and husband, Lillian was preceded in death by two brothers and five sisters. A public viewing will be held 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.,Wednesday, January 02, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Church, Tamarack, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Mahlon Nevel officiating. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m., in Sabinsville cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Maxwell Funeral Home, 205 Fifth Street, Renovo.
