Lewis W. Keener

YORK – Lewis W. Keener, 87, passed away Sunday, April 23, 2023 at Rest Haven – York. He was the husband of Norma J. Keener to whom he was married for 24 years and the late Wanda G. (McFarland) Keener to whom he was married for 40 years.

A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Avenue, York with Pastor Jesse Loggans and Rev. Gregory D. Wahlberg officiating. A viewing will be held from 10-11:00 AM Saturday at the Church. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens. Olewiler & Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 35 Gotham Place, Red Lion is in charge of arrangements.

Born June 6, 1935 in York, a son of the late Lester E. and Romaine A. (Lentz) Keener; he was a 1953 graduate of Dallastown Area High School. Mr. Keener retired from Wagman Inc., where he was a construction superintendent for many years. Lewis was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and former member of Dallastown Lions Club.

Mr. Keener is survived by two children, Tamra S. Habbershon of Red Lion and Chad W. and wife Christine Keener of Knoxville, TN; two stepchildren, Terry and wife Cathy Sell of York and Rick and wife Valerie Sell of Millsboro, DE; five grandchildren, Megan Habbershon, Jordan and wife Christin Habbershon, Eli, Sophie, and Ella Keener; two step grandchildren, Ryan and wife Deanna Sell, Corey and wife Emily Sell; and five step great grandchildren, Hali, Ashton, Marlaina, Ellie, and Molly Sell; a brother, Edward A. Keener of Airville; three sisters, Dolores E. Hamberger and Linda M. Copenheaver both of Spry, and Karen A. Rutherford of Columbus, OH.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Baptist Church, 2740 Roosevelt Avenue, York, PA 17408.
