Lewis J. Seeley

TROY - Lewis J. Seeley, Age 88 of RD 1 Troy PA passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at the Troy Hospital. Lewis was born on August 10, 1920 in Troy, PA son of the late Earl & Jen Packard Seeley. He was a graduate of Troy High School. He spent his entire life in the farming industry and in 1962 he and his wife Marie established the Milky Way Farms business. Lewis was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Troy, Trojan Lodge No. 306 F & AM, Valley of Towanda and Valley of Williamsport Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite 32nd degree. He recently received the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture Pioneer Award. Survivors include his wife of 67 years Marie (Foust) Seeley, sons, Dennis (Jean) Seeley of East Aurora, NY, Vance (Terry) Seeley of Towanda, PA, Kim (Ann) Seeley of Troy, PA, daughter, Beth (Claude) Carman of Troy, PA, grandchildren, Jodi (John) Ulmer, RaeAnn (Larry) Poturalski. Jeriah Ameigh, Nicole (Steve) Harris, Brynne (Jeremy) Renzo, Brett Carman, Shon (Jessica) Seeley, Dane Seeley, great-grandchildren, DJ Ulmer, Craig and Emma Poturalski, brothers and sisters-in-law, Norma Shedden, Betty (Wilber) Slingerland, Joey (Ellen) Foust and Marie Foust, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Lewis was predeceased by his parents, his sister Doris (Larue) Ritz, brothers and sisters-in-law, Blanche (Thomas) Mott and Ted Foust. Family and friends are invited to call from 11:30 to 2 PM Wednesday, May 6, 2009 at the First Presbyterian Church, West Main Street, Troy, PA. Lewis's service will be held at the church at the conclusion of calling hours at 2 PM with Pastor Bill Bardo and Reverend Garry Zuber officiating. Interment will follow in Windfall Cemetery, Granville Summit, PA. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral Home, Inc. 110 West Main Street Troy, PA, has been entrusted with the arrangements.
